What is Deja View?

Deja View is a nifty lightweight and fast Word Add-In that automatically retains a document's view settings per document.
When you open your document, Deja View will display it just as you viewed it last.
Why Deja View?
Microsoft Word will usually remember the window size and position of the application. But Microsoft Word does not remember the window size and position of a document. Deja View solves that.
Deja View invisibly stores a document’s view settings in the document itself. So when a document is opened in Microsoft Word with Deja View installed, Deja View directs Word to resume the document’s exact same window size and location as when last saved. This also means that the view settings can be appreciated across different computers.
The reason Microsoft Word does not remember the window size and position (or view settings of a document) is because that information is not retained in the document. Nor does Microsoft Word maintain a database of documents and their view settings, which would quickly and inefficiently bloat. It would also be ineffective across computers.

Remembers Window Size and Location
This is one of the main features of Deja View. With it a document’s precise window size and location is restored when it is opened. Deja View retains these parameters not only per document but per display.
Remembers Navigation Panel
The visibility of the Navigation Pane is not normally linked with a document in Microsoft Word. Deja View creates this relationship and directs the visibility of the Navigation Pane when a document is opened.
Remembers Document View
Microsoft Word has several viewing modes. Word typically opens a document in the view that the application last used, not the document. This feature enables Word to open a document in that document’s last view. Views include Normal, Outline, Print, Web, and Draft.
Deja View offers several configuration options. You can specify what to remember and restore. You can also set a default view for new documents. Also, Deja View automatically checks for updates. Have multiples displays? Deja View is capable of remembering a document’s size and position on multi-screen displays as well.
This Add-In is designed for 64-bit versions of Microsoft Word on Windows. If you have a 32-bit version, I can offer that as well. Please contact me.

Deja View is software offered free of charge.
It is also open source, which means that all of the code is available
for public review.
That also means that other developers may contribute to and support this add-in.
